How to draw a rectangle or oval outline in Photoshop Elements
This seems easy, but I always forget how to do it. Let’s say you have a picture and you want to highlight part of it by drawing a rectangle around one section. Like this:

Here’s how to do it with Photoshop Elements:
- Choose the
rectangular marquee tool (you can also use the
elliptical marquee tool). - Draw a rectangle around the area you want to highlight.
- From the Edit menu, choose Stroke (Outline) Selection…
- Set the Width and Color, and press OK.
Then I used the
horizontal type tool to add the text.
